Filling Empty

Scriptures For Meditation — Ps 42:1- 11; Ps 51:10-12; 2 Cor 4:7-18

A few weeks ago, God was speaking to us about the need to come to Him empty so He could fill us to use us.

We saw how so many things could fill our lives to the extent that they displace God from being preeminent in our lives.

Declutter

God’s continued charge to us, is to be intentional about being emptied of anything and everything that has taken over our hearts and filled His rightful place in our lives.

This will be our first area of focus as we begin this month’s fasting and prayers — Emptying ourselves before God; doing a spiritual de-cluttering and asking God to retake His place and build His throne in our hearts, so that He can reign and rule unequivocally over our lives.

Another Kind of Emptiness

We also talked about another kind of emptiness that is undesirable, which believers may sometimes experience in their walk with God — the sinking feeling that we cannot connect with God; where He feels so far away from us and distant. We just can’t seem to feel His presence or hear His voice.

In the frustration of our situation, our Christian life has become stagnant, lifeless and empty of true fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

What a dreadful experience this is for anyone who goes through times like this!

Panting Hard After God

The Psalmist was experiencing such a season in his life as was recorded in Ps 42 that we are meditating on today.

In his case, his “emptiness” had been enforced on him as he was made to run into exile and take refuge in a strange land. Deprived of his ability to come before the Lord and worship in the house of the Lord like he would normally do (Ps 42:4), he lamented the distressing emptiness that his soul felt with his separation from God in worship.

Maybe like him, you are also going through these emotions in your life at this time. Maybe you are in the middle of an experience or situation that has taken you away from worship, or is hindering your fellowship with God from being vibrant and with the same fervency or regularity that you once enjoyed.

Deep Calls Unto Deep

It is time for deep to call unto deep — Deep despair reaching out unto the vast depth of the love and power of God to pull you up and out of that valley onto the heights of His tender mercies and lovingkindness.

Cry out like the Psalmist did:

Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. (Ps 42:11)

Pray this prayer for yourself or for anyone in your family, circle or church that may be going through this at this present time.

The Lord isn’t finished with you yet and He definitely hasn’t forgotten you!

You will yet praise Him; the Lord will perfect all that concerns you and cause you to walk upon your high places in Jesus’s Name.

Amen.

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

From This Day Forward…

Scriptures For Meditation — Haggai 2:18-19; 2 Chronicles 6:12-31

Hag 2:18 ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider it:

Hag 2:19 Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.’ “

The two passages of scripture that we are meditating on for this last day of our fasting and prayers, capture the essence of what God is doing in our lives in this season.

Altered At The Altar

We started our first instalment of the series on curses and blessings reading the prophetic message that Haggai gave to the children of Israel, letting them know that the reason they were living under a curse was because they had neglected to keep their vows to God, which they made to Him when He delivered them from the bondage of the Babylonian captivity. (Hag 2:1-17)

They were meant to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple and the walls of the city. However, when they got their deliverance, they soon forgot about their obligations to God and went about their merry lives doing their own stuff; an attitude that even till this day, many of us unwittingly find ourselves exhibiting.

Whilst our focus yesterday was on pulling down and destroying evil altars, as we saw in Gideon’s life, we can only build the Lord’s altar, after other unholy altars have been destroyed.

Haggai returned to express an imminent change in the fortunes of the children of Israel, after they eventually did what God had demanded of them. As they laid the foundation of the temple and began the work of rebuilding God’s house, another prophetic word came to them from God —

From this day forward, I will begin to change your story; I will change the situation of your life, and I will bless you!

This is also the promise of God to us today!

We tore down the altars of Baal in our lives yesterday, and today, we shall be laying the foundation of a glorious Temple to the Lord in our lives and rebuild the altar where our lives will be an offering — a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to Him — For as the bible says, we (believers) are the temple of God.

Recovery, Restoration, Rededication

In the second scripture, we see again, what happened when Solomon was dedicating the completion of the original temple that had been destroyed.

Solomon petitioned God on behalf of himself and the nation, by making some demands on God’s mercy and favour on account of the temple that had been built. (2 Chr 6:12-39)

He closed his prayers with a powerful invocation of God’s covenant keeping grace:

2Ch 6:40 “Now, O my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.

2Ch 6:41 “Now then arise, O LORD God, [and come] to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength and power. Let Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation and let Your godly ones rejoice in [Your] goodness.

2Ch 6:42 “O LORD God, do not turn away and reject the face of Your anointed; remember Your lovingkindness and faithfulness to Your servant David.”

Prayer Focus

We are also going to similarly rededicate our lives to God, and invoke His grace and loving kindness — His mercy and His favour over our lives and our families.

We have confessed and repented of our sins, renounced ungodly covenants and broken every curse and cancelled negative pronouncements over our lives and families.

We know that in the name of Jesus, our faithful Heavenly Father has heard and answered our prayers and rebuked the enemy, shut the mouth of the devourer and destroyed his power and influence over our lives.

We will therefore pray and claim the same promise that He made through Haggai to His people —

From this day forward, the Lord our God will bless us!

This is our battle cry against the enemy of our soul and destiny; we are blessed beyond the curse.

We have been blessed by God, and no one can stop it or reverse it!

The shout of our King is amongst us; Jehovah has been proclaimed to be our King.

Hallelujah!

Please join us online on Zoom again tonight for us to pray the prayer of Restoration and Rededication together.

May the Lord answer you speedily in Jesus’s Name.

Shalom,

Pastor Wale Ola

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

OPEN AND CLOSE

Scripture For Meditation — Judges 6:1-32; 1John 1:9; John 8:36

“When the enemy has an open door into your life, the doorways of God’s blessings in your life are closed.”

This was the statement that the Spirit of God impressed in my heart as I prepared to write today’s blog.

God had promised to increase Israel as the sand on the sea shore; but as we read in our scripture passage, their sin stopped their growth and diminished them, and then their enemies, though otherwise every way inferior to them, overpowered them with numbers.

Open Doors and Breaches

Taking advantage of the open door that the Israelites’ disobedience presented to them, their enemies tried to deprive God’s people of the blessings which God had promised them —

They tried to hinder the access and enjoyment of the Israelites to the promised land.

The Enemy’s Strategy —

A repeating pattern of failure and a cycle of defeat.

Jdg 6:3 For it was whenever Israel had sown [their seed] that the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the people of the east and go up against them.

Jdg 6:4 So they would camp against them and destroy the crops of the land as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel as well as no sheep, ox, or donkey.

Jdg 6:5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, and they would come in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were innumerable. So they came into the land to devastate it.

They always came at the time of harvest to devour the fruits of their labour.

All their produce and livestock was stolen after they worked hard to bring it to fruition. Does that sound familiar to you?

But you have not obeyed My voice:

God sent this messenger to tell them where the real problem was. It wasn’t that the Midianites were so strong, it was that because Israel was so disobedient, they were under the curse of toiling without harvest.

Manifestations of The Curse

Some of these things may be identifiable in our own lives as well:

Hardship — Threshing wheat in the wine press — This was both difficult and humiliating.

Fruitless labour — They had neglected to honour God with their substance and had prepared that for Baal with which God should have been served, and now God justly permitted an enemy to take it away in what should have been the season of their harvest.

Poverty — When Israel kept in line with God, they reaped what others sowed (Jos 24:13; Psa 105:44); but now that God had forsaken them others reaped what they sowed.

Oppression— The Israelites imprisoned themselves in dens and caves, because of the oppressive spirit of fear that had come upon them (Judges 6:2)

Tearing Down The Altars of Baal

By Gideon – Jdg 6:25-32

By Jehoiada – 2Ki 11:18

By Josiah – 2Ki 23:4-5

In ancient Israel, the people worshipped Baal because he was thought to be the god of weather, and they relied on the weather for agricultural prosperity.

In the hard economic times because of the Midianite oppression, people worshipped Baal all the more – not understanding that they only made things worse by not turning to God.

God called Gideon to get his own house in order first –

He had to destroy the altar of Baal before he could raise an altar to the Lord, and reverse the prevailing negative circumstances in their lives!

This is the same call of God to us in this moment in time — Get your house in order first!

We have to tear down the demonic altars of lies, deceit and unrighteousness that have prevailed in our lives, and empowered the enemy at the expense of the praise and honour that is due to God and robbed us of our destiny.

Prayer Focus

Spend the day to reflect on the negative patterns in your life or family.

Repent of whatever open doors or gaps that may be in your life or family that have empowered or are empowering the enemy to work against your destiny.

Cancel every curse that’s operating in your life or in your family line that are the result of the open doors.

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

June 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

The Shout of The King Is Amongst Us!

Scriptures For Meditation — Numbers 23:19-21; Jer 31:29-30; Eph 1:3

Num 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Num 23:20 Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

Num 23:21 “God has not observed wickedness in Jacob [for he is forgiven], Nor has He seen trouble in Israel. The LORD their God is with Israel, And the shout of their King is among the people.

We have been studying the story of Balaam and Balaak in the book of Numbers, where Balaak (the king of Moab) had employed the prophet Balaam to curse Israel.

As we read In the story, there are a few important pointers that we can hold on to as we petition God on behalf of our families and contend for our destinies; we will identify and stand against whatever repeating limiting or destructive patterns that we may be experiencing in our lives or families.

1. God cannot lie

This is the foundation on which we will be building our stand as we believe God for what we are petitioning Him for. Whatever He has promised to do in our lives or situation, He is faithful to keep His promises concerning us.

2. When God blesses you, no one can reverse or alter His pronouncements over your life.

3. The blessings of God over your life are more powerful than whatever curses may have been spoken over your life or at work in your family lineage.

4. Because your life is hidden with Christ in God, every Curse or negative pronouncement concerning your life will not stand not prosper.

5. God has blessed and equipped you with everything that you need to fulfil His purpose for your life.

What’s Your Reality?

Having said all of that, some of us will realise upon looking closely into our lives, that the story of our lives may be somewhat removed from this reality. We may suspect that there appears to be some sort of hex or curse or negative spiritual forces fighting against us like an unseen hand, pulling us back or resisting us when we try to move forward in life.

And this may not just be limited to only ourselves, as sometimes, we could identify the same pattern at work in the lives of some people in our family line as well!

Friend, if these are true concerning you, that ought not to be so in your life as a child of God; and the Good News is that in Christ Jesus, we have the victory and authority over Curses and negative pronouncements spoken over our lives!

Search and Destroy

God’s charge to us as we fast and pray this month, is to stand and believe Him for the cancellation of every Curse and the cessation and reversal of every negative cycle that we may have been experiencing in our lives or families.

Prayer Focus

On this first day of our waiting on the Lord, we will spend our time to consecrate ourselves to God and invite and entertain His Holy Presence in our lives / space.

Num 23:21 “God has not observed wickedness in Jacob [for he is forgiven], Nor has He seen trouble in Israel. The LORD their God is with Israel, And the shout of their King is among the people.

Or as the NLT puts it:

For the LORD their God is with them; he has been proclaimed their king.

God being with us is indeed our greatest defence against the attacks or wiles of the enemy!

Let’s lift a shout of praise to our Defender and Shield.

Let’s lift up our voices and proclaim Him to be our king.

Let the shout of the King sound louder than the evil words that the enemy has been speaking concerning your life and over your family.

Position yourself for your deliverance and breakthrough in Jesus’s Name!

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above–spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

Amen

May 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

Scriptures For Meditation — Is 44:1-8; 1Pet 2:9; Rom 8:11; John 7:39

THE POWER TO WITNESS

Isa 44:6 This is what the LORD says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.

Isa 44:7 Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future.

We will be ending this month’s fasting and prayers today, by expanding on one of the Scriptures that we meditated on yesterday (Isa 44:1-8)

As we look closely at this scripture, we will notice a few things:

A Chosen People

First, Isaiah begins his introduction to the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit by identifying the people to whom the promise is being made — God’s Chosen People.

Isa 44:1 “But now, listen to me, Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one.

Isa 44:2 The LORD who made you and helps you says: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, O dear Israel, my chosen one.

As the bible tells us in 1Peter 2:9, we Believers by virtue of Christ’s redemptive work, have also become God’s own special people.

Do Not Be Afraid

As Isaiah said to the people in his time, so is the message to someone reading this at this time also — Do not be afraid!

Though there may be so many things troubling your mind at this time, the overflow of the Spirit of God into your life carries with it a promise of hope and succour to bring you to a different place where your victory is assured and the purpose of God for your life is established.

Isa 44:8 Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses—is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock—not one!”

You Are God’s Witness

Again, just as Christ stated in Acts 1:4 and Acts 1:8, telling us that the reason for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is to empower us to be His witnesses, God also declares that these His chosen people on whom the Spirit are being invested are His witnesses — called to show forth His glory.

Refresh, Revive Restore

Isa 44:3 For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.

The prophecy also brings a promise of the blessings of refreshing, revival and restoration with the overflow of the Spirit of God.

And A Promise of Prosperity

Isa 44:4 They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank.

Isa 44:5 Some will proudly claim, ‘I belong to the LORD.’ Others will say, ‘I am a descendant of Jacob.’ Some will write the LORD’s name on their hands and will take the name of Israel as their own.”

Prosperity is not just talking about money or material provisions — it is basically anything and everything that you need to fulfil God’s purpose for your life; everything that is required for your life to bear witness to the truth of the Good News that you proclaim, that will make people desire to serve the God that you serve and draw them into God’s kingdom!

The thriving that this prophecy promises, includes:

• Your health,

• Advancement in your career, prosperity in your business or ministry

• Life-Giving Relationships,

• Peaceful family,

• Gifts of the Holy Spirit for ministry,

• Sound state of mind,

• Favour on the job, and in your sphere of influence or area of calling.

• Every resource, tool, provision or infrastructure needed to fulfil your purpose.

• A fruitful life that bears witness to the life, teachings, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer Focus

Whatever is missing in your life for it to manifest the evidence of the promise of prosperity that comes with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in your life (all the things that are mentioned above) should be established.

Shalom,

Pastor Wale

May 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

May 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

Scriptures For Meditation — Joel 2:28; Acts 2:17; Is 44:3-4; Phil 4:13

OVERFLOW

“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose–I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”

Php 4:13 Amplified

As we continue to mark Pentecost this week, we have another opportunity to:

Be reminded of, and to celebrate the essence of who we are as Christians, and also

• the fulfilment of the promise that God made concerning the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Down Payment – (Acts 1:4;8)

This promise was spoken first in the OT through Prophets Joel and Isaiah in Joel 2:28 and Isa 44:3-4; and then reiterated by Peter on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:17.

OVERFLOW!

Yesterday, we meditated on the promise that God gave to us in sending the Holy Spirit to empower us to fulfill His assignment for our lives.

We also saw that this empowerment that would be invested upon us through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is expressed and is manifest in different miraculous acts in the life of the believer.

The question however is, if there was already an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, should we still expect another outpouring in our day and age?

Well, what we can definitely pray for and expect, is a Refuelling or an overflow. Because,

Whenever there’s an OVERFLOW of the Spirit, the gifts and miracles always manifest.

We struggle through life trying to “work things out” in our own power and wisdom; we get battered and discouraged by the unending challenges that life throws at us, and we ultimately settle for a defeated life that is devoid of the power of the Holy Spirit.

Many believers have unwittingly gotten to a place in our walk with God where we have run dry of the presence of the Holy Spirit, as we have relegated Him to the back of the queue, failing to give Him any room to really occupy and direct our lives as He should!

But dear friend, I am persuaded and believe God for better things concerning you — The promise of the Father is still available for you to claim even now; the overflow of the Holy Spirit in your life will produce the miracle that you have been crying out to God for, if you would receive it and allow Him to fill your life and overflow from you.

Prayer Focus

Cry out to God for an OVERFLOW of His Spirit.

Pray For The Activation, Stirring Up and an OVERFLOW of His Spirit on your life, in your ministry, over your household.

Pray for an overflow of God’s presence and power into every area of your life and on the church.

Pray for the activation and release of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that you need to fulfil God’s assignment for your life.

Shalom,

Pastor Wale Ola

May 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

May 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

Scriptures For Meditation — Acts 1:3-8; John 1:12; Ephesians 3:20;

Can Do, Will Do

We celebrated The Feast of Pentecost last Sunday. The theme of our fasting and prayers this month, is going to focus on the realities of what Pentecost should mean for us as New Testament believers.

In Acts 1:4, Jesus enjoined His disciples to wait on the promise of The Father to send the Holy Spirit to them; and in verse 8, He tells them the reason why:

They would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on them!

This power they were to receive, was going to be a prerequisite or a necessary pre-condition for what they were to do afterwards.

What Was This Power?

Dunamis

For us to get the full import of this promise, it will be necessary to have an understanding of what that word “power” really means.

In the context of use, it is translated from the Greek word — Dunamis.

And as Thayer’s Greek Bible Definition, highlights, it means:

Strength Power, Ability, Inherent power;

Power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature.

So when Jesus said they would receive power, He was saying that they were going to have a change in their nature when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, that would invest them with an inherent power to do things!

This power also refers to the ability which that person or thing exerts and puts forth and manifests in:

• The power for performing miracles

• Moral power and excellence of soul

• The power and influence which belong to riches and wealth (Prosperity)

• The power and resources arising from numbers (Growth and Multiplication)

• The power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts (Dominion and Authority)

The word dunamis itself, is taken from the Greek word — Dunamai

And Dunamai means:

1. To be able to do something — to have power whether by virtue of one’s own ability and resources, or of a state of mind, or through favourable circumstances, or by permission of law or custom

2. Can do; capacity; to be capable, strong and powerful

3. To be possible

Prayer Focus

Reading all of this, we can see that God has deposited an immense and extremely potent divine ability in us, given to enable us accomplish His purposes for our lives, through the operation and workings of His Holy Spirit in us.

That’s what Pentecost is about!

Let’s revisit the definitions of both “Dunamis” and “Dunamai” highlighted above; meditate on the different components of the words, then pray and claim the reality of those things into your life and situation in Jesus’s Name.

Amen.

April 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

April 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

Mouth Open Wide

Scriptures For Meditation — Ps 81:10; Ps 71:8; Prov 18:21; Eph 3:20

In the blog post of Day 2 of our fasting and prayers, we talked about Open Gates and Open Doors being a consequence of open heavens. Today, we’ll be talking about another important component that facilitates our walking under and enjoying the blessings of open heavens in our lives — Open Mouths!

As one of my friends liked to say:

“A closed mouth is a closed destiny”!

In our first scripture reading for today (Ps 81:10), God gave an instruction which could also be said to be a challenge, to the children of Israel —He said to them:

“Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it”!

At first glance, this charge may be understood to simply mean opening of the mouth in prayer.

However, the command goes much beyond just that, as it says, to open it wide — to be bold and daring; to take the limits off our minds and off of God, and believe Him to exceed our expectations. (Eph 3:20)

As the Bible commentator Giles says:

To open the mouth wide in prayer is to pray with great freedom, to pour out the soul to God, lay open its whole case, and tell him all his mind and wants; to pray with great boldness, and with much importunity and fervency, and in full assurance of faith, pleading with great strength the promises of God, and asking in faith for much, according to them; and God may be said to fill this wide mouth of faith in prayer, when he grants the desires of the heart, gives his people what they will, even very largely and abundantly, yea, more than they can ask or think.

It could also mean that when we get to that place where having been wearied in our waiting and weakened in faith by disappointments and deferred hope, even though we have no more words to pray, we open our mouth wide in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to fill it with His words of faith.

Dear friend, the promise of God to you; His instruction for us today, is to open our our mouth – WIDE and allow Him to fill it!

Shalom,

Pastor Wale Ola

Prayer Focus

Open your mouth wide and prophesy into the month of May. Declare that it is only the counsel of the Lord that will stand in your life, family, household, business, ministry, education, etc.

Petition God for, and declare open heavens over the month of May.

Prophesy divine alignment of your life with the resources, provisions and blessings that God had purposed for your season.

Prophesy the opening of the miraculous gateways and the doorways of blessings, favour and breakthroughs for yourself, your household and the church family in Jesus’s Name.

Let God fill your mouth with praise as you thank Him in advance for answering your prayers. Amen.

April 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

April 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

Open Gates, Open Doors

Scriptures For Meditation — Isaiah 60:11-12; Matthew 16:18-19; Rev 3:7

The Bible in many verses particularly in Old Testament prophecies, would often refer to gates and doors.

Figuratively, both gates and doors can refer to control of access or right of passage. So, the person that has the keys to the gateways and the doorways gets to decide what comes through those access ways.

One of the consequences of open heavens is uninterrupted or unhindered access to provisions or supplies. Whether they be spiritual, material, physical or otherwise —This means open gateways and doorways.

When Jacob had his dream of open heavens at Bethel, one of the things that he declared was: “This is the gate of heaven..!” (Gen 28:17)

In our first scripture reference for today (Is 60:11-12) which is a follow up to the earlier prophetic instruction to Zion to arise out of darkness (Is 60:1-10), God promises Zion that her gates would not be shut, but be open continually so that her supplies may come in unhindered.

In our second scripture (Matt 16:18), Jesus declares that the “gates of hell” shall not prevail against the establishment and advancement of His Church, and Rev 3:7 tells us why — He is the One that holds the keys to the gateways and the doorways!

Keys denote power, authority and control; all of which are vested in Christ Jesus and have been made available to us as redeemed children of God, through His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.

Let’s begin by thanking God for the provision that He’s made for us in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER FOCUS

Let’s use the keys that He’s given us to block and destroy every gateway through which the enemy has, has had or plans to have access into our lives, family, or to impair our destiny.

Let’s pray for the gateways and the doorways that God has ordained for our blessings and provisions to be opened in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that God will open miraculous doors of favour, promotion, breakthroughs, provisions and deliverance for us and every member of our families in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that in the month of May, the Way maker will make a way for us, and that He will empower us to enter in through those gateways and doors that He will open for us, to fully appropriate our blessings in Jesus’s Name.

Scriptures For Meditation — Matt 7:7-8; Is 64:1-4

A few years ago, I had a dream of a big funnel filled with oil that was pouring down from heaven to earth.

It was a continuous stream of oil that was flowing out of the funnel, and as I followed the path of the stream, I saw that there was a big container – a bucket, at the bottom of the flow that was meant to collect the oil.

However on looking closer at the sight I was seeing, I realised that the container was slightly misaligned off from the spout of the funnel, and the oil that was meant to be flowing inside the container was actually being wasted, pouring on the floor around the bucket instead.

As I meditated on our fasting and prayers theme for this month, the Holy Spirit reminded me of this dream again, using it as a follow up to the prayers that we prayed last month.

Divine Alignment

Last month, the theme of our prayers was open heavens. We prayed that God will Open the Heavens over us and our households in every area of your lives.

But as God reminded me in the dream that I shared above, it is indeed possible for the Heavens to be open and for God to be pouring out oil from the funnel of His blessings, but for our container to be out of alignment and not be receiving the intended blessings.

On this first day of our fasting and prayers, we will be praying a prayer of Divine Alignment.

I pray that God will hear and answer our prayers speedily in Jesus’s Name.

Shalom,

Pastor Wale Ola

Prayer Focus

• Let’s start by thanking God for the open heavens over our lives, acknowledging by faith that we believe He heard the prayers that we prayed last month.

• Let’s ask God to show us areas of our lives that the enemy may be exploiting to accuse us before God or rob us of our blessings.

• Let’s confess and repent of any sin and plead the blood of Jesus over our lives.

• Let’s pray that God will reposition us correctly to receive the blessings that He has for us in this season.

• Let’s pray that God will reposition the people and the resources that are meant to be the vessels of our blessings in the places that they will be aligned to deliver what God has purposed for us.

• Let’s pray that our containers (whatever these may represent in our individual lives – our jobs, ministries, businesses, careers, projects, plans, ideas, proposals, etc) will be in perfect alignment with the funnel of God’s blessings that we are meant to be receiving.

• Let’s pray for the restoration of everything that we have missed out on because of us being out of alignment with the plans, will, purpose and provisions that God intended for us.
